Course details
The Nick Faldo-designed golf course, aptly named „The Fortress“, will be an 18-hole championship length course. It will challenge and inspire players of all handicaps, offering two very different experiences through both nine holes. The naturally undulating terrain will be utilised, with several holes playing into, alongside and away from Grand Lake. The marshland here will be a special feature and the varying wind directions will help to enhance the overall strategic quality of the course.
The front nine will play around spectacular marshland in a figure 8; an emphasis will be placed on the strategic positioning of each shot. Holes 4 and 5 both have greens that can be approached with shots over Grand Lake itself.
The back nine is more densely forested with gently rolling hills and other natural features that will enhance the distinctive character of the course. The 17th, a short par 4, can be played as a traditional par 4 or alternatively can be taken on by a 200 metre tee shot directly over Grand Lake. The 18th, a long par 5, offers birdie opportunities but could also ruin your card with the approach shot over water.
The championship course will be complemented by the 18-hole par 3 course that will also be created by the award-winning Faldo Design group.
